  1. Work Rate/Work Ethic – This relates to a players ability to train hard and put in maximum effort at all times. Many players train/play hard sometimes but very few players learn to train/play at maximum intensity every time they step on the field. Players who make it to the next level (HS, college, professional) learn early on that the effort that they put in makes a difference in their ability
  2. Performance – Simply put this is how well you play. We hope that players will begin to see the relationship between their work ethic and their performance. Once again players who make it to the next level learn that there is a relationship between performance and work ethic early on in their career. Players can’t count on having their best performance every training session/game but they can count on being able to put their best foot forward every time.
  3. Focus and Coachable – Every coach or leader desires a group of individuals who come prepared to learn and improve every day. This ability to learn especially deals with an individual’s ability to focus on the task(s) that needs to be completed. Each player should ask himself if he was focused for the entire session/game and was able to complete the tasks asked of him to the best of his ability. Is the player aware of the topic that was covered in training or the issues covered before, during and after a game.
  4. Team Contribution and Dependability – Each player plays an integral part of the whole. Being part of a team has a great value and we want every player to realize that they will be able to accomplish more together. At the end of each training session/game each player should ask himself if he contributed to the team’s success in some form or fashion. This might even be cheering his teammates on from the sidelines.
  5. Respect – Every player should exhibit respect for everyone they come in contact with. Each player should ask himself if he listened to the coach, follows directions, treated teammates and opponents fairly, listened to the referee, etc.
